Rag-Ball Rugby

6 A-Side (from a panel of 15 players), Non Contact mixed Rugby Leagues played every week on Astroturf pitches at a Venue near you!

Rag Ball Rugby teams are mixed, with a minimum of 2 females on the pitch from a panel of 15. Roll on/off substitutions can be made without interruption at any point during the game. Teams in possession, hold possession until they are either 'ragged' 5 times or lose possession through an intercepted pass, free, offside etc. No forward passing. No scrums. No line outs. The object to score as many points as possible during the 40 minute game.  Teams will be graded into 2 Categories (8 teams per Category). All games will be officiated by fully trained referees.

SCORING - Male Touchdown = 1 point. Female Touchdown = 3 points.

Categories:

Platinum Leagues: for experienced and competitive mixed players who have previously played Rag or similar games.

Gold Leagues: for inexperienced mixed players, or beginners in the sport.  

Each Category in each League may have a number of Divisionswithin it.  Play Off’s at the end of the season will determine who goes into the RagBall Rugby (Accumulator) European Cup.

Each game will be approximately 40 minutes in duration, played on 50m x 25m floodlit astroturf pitches. Matches will be played weekly. A league fixture programme will be issued on this website. Results and league tables will also be posted daily on this website. Trophies and special prizes for League cup winners will be presented at the Venue at the end of each League.

The cost per team is €55 per game. (Costs may vary from venue to venue). Cost covers hire of pitches, Public Liability, Trophies, Prizes, Administration Charges and Referees.  Membership Cards are €30 per annum and includes: Kit (shorts & shirt), Personal Accident Insurance and Discounts in participating outlets.
