The RagBall Challenge Cup & Trophies Summer 2008

We began the 2008 Inaugural RagBall Summer Cup on 11th June 2008 with 20 Teams competing in a Champions League style format.  Teams came from all over  Cork City and County.  After the first 3 weeks the competition was split into 2 sections, one competing for the cup and the other for the trophy.  As the knock out stages progresses the intensity of the competition became obvious and like all competitions the cream eventually came to the top .  After some truly outstanding games of extremely high quality, John Shaw’s ‘Knocka Celtic’ beat the ‘Boosters’ Team, that deserved better in a very one sided final.  Adrian Searles, ‘FC Searle’ team beat the ‘rentford rejects’ in a ‘full blooded’ game to win the trophy.

A Big Thank-you to everyone who took part including the referee’s Barry Buckley and Paul O’Reilly. We are looking forward to welcoming back all the Teams  for the new National Accumulator  Leagues  as  they gear up on the Road to Europe beginning  the week  8th September 2008
